DIVISION CALENDAR

February through May 2006

 

11 February 2006: Glendale Cemetery Walkover, 11:00 a.m., Glendale Cemetery, 7844 N. 61st Ave. (south side of Northern Avenue), Glendale, Arizona. Camp 1525 members will be walking the graves in the old section of Glendale Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona, in search of Confederate military headstones and other identifiers of Confederate service. 11 February 2006: The Pinal County Historical Society, in Florence, Arizona, will have an open house at Granville Henderson Oury's home in Florence, Arizona on February 11, 2006. The Captain Granville H. Oury Camp 1708 of Scottsdale needs volunteers to handle the SCV booth at this event from 8 until 4 pm. 11-12 February 2006: Territorial Days, Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum, about 10 miles north of Phoenix off I-17 (take the Pioneer Road Exit).

18 February 2006: Camp Meeting, Confederate Secret Service Camp 1710. The Camp will hold a business meeting and luncheon at 11:30 AM at the Country House Restaurant, 4373 S. Highway 92, Sierra Vista, Arizona. Contact Camp Adjutant Curtis E. Tipton at cssscv@earthlink.net for more information.

 

18 February 2006: The quarterly meeting of Camp Picacho Peak, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, to be held at Coco’s Restaurant, 4514 E. Cactus Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032. 23 February 2006: The Captain Hunter’s Arizona Rangers Camp 1202 of Tucson will participate in the annual Tucson Rodeo Parade. Horses will be supplied at a cost of $60.00 per mount, saddle & bridle included. All members of the Arizona Division are requested to attend if possible. Also invited are the Arizona Chapters of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. There will be a wagon that will carry up to eight people that prefer to use it. We are sorry but as to the nature of the event there will be NO marching Infantry allowed as the parade moves fast and has many participants. Please wear Confederate Uniforms, "gee-gaws" & medals are permitted. Ladies please put on your "Southern Best" bonnett & dress. 25-26 February 2006: Scottish Highland Games, Mesa Community College, Mesa, Arizona. The Captain Granville Henderson Oury Camp 1708 will have a recruiting and information booth at the event. 2 March 2006: The Sierra Vista Middle School will hold its annual "Rifles for Watie" Day on the school campus. The Confederate Secret Service Camp 1710 will give a living history presentation to the students at the school. Contact Camp Adjutant Curtis E. 11-12 March 2006: Civil War in the Southwest Weekend, Picacho Peak State Park, on Interstate 10 about 40 miles north of Tucson. The Arizona Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will have a display area reserved in all Arizona S.C.V. Camps can participate.
