Compatriots, It's that time again! The National Per Capita Tax, Arizona Division dues and, if your Camp has them, Camp dues became payable on August 1st. Your Camp's Adjutant should be notifying y'all about what amount is due and where to send your payment. Generally, your dues will be $32.50 ($27.50 if your Camp has no dues). Please don't delay in remitting your payments. Dues must be paid by October 31st or you will be considered delinquent. After November 1st, there will be an additional $5.00 reactivation fee required.

Many of y'all attended the Arizona Division Reunion and Convention at Apache Pointe Ranch in Sierra Vista. It was a successful event and much was accomplished. The main item of business, of course, was the election of officers for the 2006-2007 term. The results of the election are: Division Commander: John W. Mangum, Texas John H. Slaughter Camp 2074; Division Lt. Commander: Larry A. Hammack, Captain Granville H. Oury Camp 1708; Jefferson Davis Brigade Commander: Robert P. Perkins, Colonel Sherod Hunter Camp 1525; Gadsden Brigade Commander: Dwaine L. Bright, Jr., Confederate Secret Service Camp 1710. Your humble servant has been reappointed to the office of Division Adjutant. The other appointed Division Staff officers are listed in the directory elsewhere in this issue.

Past Division Commander and Camp 1202 Commander Bobby Morris represented the Arizona Division at the recent SCV National Reunion and Convention in New Orleans. Elections for national officers were held as well as a vote on the adoption of a new SCV constitution. The new constitution was adopted with an overwhelming majority. Copies will be available soon either directly from IHQ or on the SCV website at www.scv.org. The results of the national election are: Commander-in-Chief: Christopher Sullivan of South Carolina; Lt. Commander-in-Chief: Ron Casteel of Missouri; Army of Trans-Mississippi Commander: Chuck Norred of California.

Commander Mangum will be scheduling a Division Executive Council meeting for September. The tentative date is September 23 with a tentative location in Tucson. The membership will be notified once arrangements are made. As always, DEC meetings are open and any SCV member may attend.

Once again, let me remind y'all to remit your dues payments as soon as possible and to remind Camp Adjutants to send payments of the National Per Capita tax to IHQ and payments of the Division dues to me.

God Save the Southern Confederacy!

Curt Tipton, Adjutant

Arizona Division, S.C.V.
